Delete Account

1. Overview

This page explains how to delete your Draughts.io account and what happens to your data after deletion. Account deletion is permanent.

2. Delete Your Account in the App

You can delete your account directly from the Draughts.io app:

1. Open the Draughts.io app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
2. Open your Profile or Account screen.
3. Choose Edit Profile.
4. Tap Delete profile.
5. Confirm the deletion. If your account uses email and password, enter your current password. If your account uses Google or Apple sign-in, complete the Google or Apple re-authentication step instead.

After confirmation, the app deletes your server profile and then deletes the account authentication record. You will be signed out automatically.

3. Delete Your Account on the Website

You can also delete your account through the Draughts.io website:

1. Go to https://draughts.io/play/.
2. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
3. Open your Profile or Account screen.
4. Choose Edit Profile.
5. Select Delete profile and confirm the deletion. Email and password accounts require the current password. Google or Apple accounts may redirect you to Google or Apple and then return you to Draughts.io to finish deletion.

4. Accounts Created With Google or Apple

If you created or sign in to Draughts.io with Google or Apple, your Draughts.io account may not have a separate Draughts.io password. In that case, the delete flow confirms your identity by asking Google or Apple to re-authenticate you.

Deleting your Draughts.io account removes your Draughts.io profile and the authentication record used by Draughts.io. It does not delete your Google Account or Apple Account.

After deleting your Draughts.io account, you may also want to remove Draughts.io from the list of apps connected to your Google Account or Apple Account. This is optional, but it helps keep your connected-apps list clean.

Remove Draughts.io from your Google Account

1. Open your Google Account's connected apps page: https://myaccount.google.com/connections.
2. Sign in to the Google Account you used with Draughts.io.
3. Find Draughts.io in your third-party apps or connections.
4. Open its details and choose the option to remove the connection or access.

Stop using Sign in with Apple for Draughts.io

1. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then choose Sign in with Apple.
2. On the web, sign in at https://account.apple.com/, then go to Sign-In & Security and select Sign in with Apple.
3. Select Draughts.io.
4. Choose Delete or Stop Using and confirm.

5. What Data Is Deleted

Deleting your account removes server-side account data, including:

• Account profile information, such as username, email, and country
• Online player identifiers associated with the deleted account
• Ratings, statistics, matchmaking state, and other multiplayer profile data
• Server-side gameplay data associated with the deleted account

6. What May Remain on Your Device

Account deletion removes your account data from our servers immediately. Some local settings may still exist only on your own device or browser, such as cached files, cookies, local storage, board style, language, or other offline preferences. You can remove local data by clearing the app data or clearing your browser storage for draughts.io.

7. Permanent Deletion

Account deletion cannot be undone. Once deletion is complete, the deleted account and server-side data cannot be recovered by you or by Draughts.io. If you want to use Draughts.io again after deletion, you need to create a new account.
